Tales from LUI

How the LUI reflector came to life

Once upon a time… there was an idea. It first formed in the spring of 2025. We wanted to create something that was more than just another generic giveaway but instead carried a message of sustainability and attention to detail—and that was actually useful in everyday life.

It also had to connect to our company ethos. It made perfect sense to bring LUI, our spirit animal, into the brainstorming session.

On the hunt for ideas

After extensive research into the arts and crafts world, and couple of trips to various markets, we got talking to Birgit Scherff, the founder of Bisign Upcycling (Instagram link below).

We quickly realized that she had the right ideas, and the best approach for our project. Our concept—a LUI-shaped safety reflector. Working through all the details with Birgit was an absolute joy. She works with old kite sails and kite cords that have already had an adventurous life, and when crafted with care and attention, they are incredibly eye-catching. This treasure trove of recycled and robust fabrics and cords are ideal for our purposes. Our LUI reflectors were ready and waiting to be take form.

From sketch to finished product

Our designers sketched some ideas, which Birgit used to make the first protoypes.

We considered every detail and placed each stitch with care—from the top of LUI’s head to his tiny feet.

We wanted the reflectors to increase the safety of anyone who used them.

Each one is unique. A small work of art that combines sustainability, safety, and design.

The excitement was real when the postal carrier brought the first package, and we opened the box to see the faces of all those little LUIs.

Creative and sustainable — quite simply, unique

Our Unequity spirit animal is special, in that he reflects the communication strategies that we design for you—individual, creative, and precisely targeted to your audience.

In the same way that we put genuine care and attention into every detail of our customer projects, this was planned thoughtfully from start to finish. And made to have a lasting impact.
