bAV Change offer in times of change - from concept to success
In times of change, clear and transparent communication is the anchor that maintains trust. Following the announcement of Schaeffler’s acquisition of Vitesco Technologies in 2024, all contracts and employment conditions are to be transferred to the Schaeffler Group in the future.
As part of the merger, the employer-funded company pension scheme (bAV) in Germany is taking center stage. Vitesco employees have the option to switch to the Schaeffler Pension Plan (SPP) or keep their current pension plan. To successfully communicate this offer, clarity, simplicity, and personalization are key.
As many Vitesco employees as possible should be well informed when switching to the Schaeffler Pension Plan (SPP), and the switch rate of current Schaeffler employees should be increased through a fresh communication campaign. The aim is to ensure that the integration of the company pension scheme is recognized as a positive experience within the overall integration process and to consolidate the confidence of the newly acquired workforce in Schaeffler.
In close coordination with the responsible parties from the human resources and communications departments, as well as the employee committees and local human resources departments, an eye-catching, multimedia communication campaign, consisting of a mix of digital and analog formats, was developed for the switch to the Schaeffler Pension Plan (SPP) and implemented with great success:
In total, over 70 % of Vitesco Technologies employees opted to switch to the Schaeffler Pension Plan (SPP), with an additional 17 % of Schaeffler employees, who had initially decided against switching when the offer was first made in 2023.
The results thus significantly exceeded expectations.
