On 6 October, Unequity will be 15 years old
I am 46, and my nine-year-old son has already mentioned that he wants to take over one day. I am not planning to hand him the company just yet — there is still plenty of time for him to discover other ideas. But his words made me think about what it means to build something that can continue beyond one person.
Unequity stands for “Unique in Equity”. That name still says a great deal about what we believe in. Equity means recognizing people in their individuality, treating them fairly and creating the conditions for them to participate and contribute.
Unique in Equity
Over the past 15 years, we have experienced good decisions, difficult decisions and decisions we would probably make differently today. We have changed, adapted and survived economic challenges. We have learned that success is not always loud or immediately visible. Sometimes success means continuing. Sometimes it means changing direction. And sometimes it means having the courage to remain true to what matters. If you want to learn more about our history.
Unequity has never been a one-person story. Elke and Hannah recently celebrated 14 years with us. I cannot imagine Unequity without them. They have shaped our work, our culture and our shared memories in ways that go far beyond any job description.
And then there are our clients, partners, supporters, friends and all the people we have met through our projects. They are the reason this company exists.
Our work is HR communications. For us, that means far more than creating messages. We tell compelling stories, make complex things clear, support change and transformation, build communities and networks, connect people, listen, inspire, challenge, navigate and communicate.
We make things colourful when they seem dusty grey.
And beneath everything, it is always about people.
People who deserve to be involved. People who deserve respect and fairness. People who spend a significant part of their lives with their employers and contribute to their success. People who share emotions, experiences, dreams, plans and stories.
People are still needed in times of AI and digitalization. Perhaps they are needed more than ever.
Our values are enthusiastic, clear and integer. They describe the spirit of Unequity and the way I have always wanted to work and live: with energy, honesty, clarity and integrity.
I am proud that Unequity is still unique. I am grateful for the people who have made this journey possible. And I am excited about what comes next.
Fifteen years is not an ending. It is a moment to pause, look back, celebrate — and prepare for the next generation.
15 years. Many stories. One belief: people matter.
